FSBG is looking to increase the number of volunteers who have been working in partnership with Swansea parks staff over the last 6 years within the botanical gardens Swansea. This volunteering opportunity is based on the principle that Garden staff provide direction and day-to-day management, while volunteers contribute their time, flexibility, and specialist skills.
How can I volunteer?
Volunteers will dedicate either one full day or one half day per week to helping at the botanical gardens Swansea, located in Singleton Park, Monday to Fridays only. By volunteering within the botanical gardens, you will support the work of trained horticulturists by assisting with the basic maintenance of the plant collections and the general upkeep of the botanical gardens. This is a unique opportunity to work with the diverse plant collection and gain new knowledge and skills.
All activities will be under the direction of Parks Department staff. If you have an interest and skills in horticulture and would like to become a Horticultural Volunteer supporting the work of trained horticulturists, we encourage you to get involved.
Please apply below for further information and the registration form.
PLEASE NOTE: Horticultural volunteering is a physically demanding activity.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
